Last updated: 25 August 2026. Plain language on purpose — this describes what you're actually buying, what you're not, and how access works today.
What this is — and what it isn't
Owner-Builder Companion is an informational compliance and planning toolkit for NSW owner-builders — a stage-by-stage roadmap, WHS reference material, a council lookup database, and planning tools (budget calculator, build schedule).
It is not the mandatory NSW Owner-Builder Course (10290NAT). Buying access here does not satisfy any NSW Fair Trading permit requirement, does not produce a certificate, and is not a substitute for that accredited course. If you have not completed 10290NAT and need it for your Owner-Builder Permit, this product does not replace that step.
Nothing on this site is legal, insurance, financial, or professional building advice. Always verify current requirements with NSW Fair Trading, your council, your Principal Certifier, and a qualified professional before acting on anything here.
What you're buying
The Build Sequence Schedule and Budget Calculator downloads, the Risk Management Pack checklist, every blog article, and the "Before You Start" stage of the Build Roadmap are free — no purchase or account needed.
A single one-time payment of AUD $99 unlocks every remaining stage of the Build Roadmap. This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — there is no recurring charge, and the price covers this current version of the roadmap content.
How access actually works today
There is no account system yet. When you pay, access is granted to the browser and device you completed checkout on, verified against your real Stripe payment each time you visit a paid page — not stored as a username/password login.
Real Limitation
Because of this, access does not automatically follow you to a different browser or device. If you switch devices or clear your browser data, contact us using the details below and we'll manually restore access using your payment record — but it won't happen on its own the way an account-based login would. This is a genuine current gap, not fine print to catch you out, and it will improve once a proper account system is built.
Payment
Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. See our Privacy Policy for what we do receive, and our Refund Policy for what happens if this isn't right for you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
